Between the dream and the reality...
My artistic work is concentrated on the imagination. I do not thus try to make serious philosophic or political messages of our time, but on the contrary to escape me (Although some things revolt me, as for example the miserable which steal the bags of the old women). In front of a more and more oppressive reality, it seemed to me urgent to make be reborn the dream, so expensive to the Surrealists and the other Dadaists. So, quite slowly, I slid towards the abstraction. It allowed me to investigate a new technique ; the painting "glycérophtalique". This last one adapts particularly well to the canvas, a classic support but what I appreciate for its feature. Generally, I prefer to work on big formats so that colors take life. I quickly paint, in a instinctive and rough way in big reinforcements of spurts, trails or spatters. Often, I leave the fate to make the things ; the painting takes then unexpected forms which I exploit afterward. I sometimes add materials as nails, paper of press or the fragments of dried painting. To finish, I grant a particular importance for the titles of paintings, which show themselves generally absurd, ironic or intense. |
